Michael Owusu Addo, also known as Sarkodie, a rapper and CEO of Sarkcess Music, has stated that Ghanaian music can infiltrate the UK market if the country has a large number of A-List Ghanaians.
The question of when Ghanaian musicians will be able to break into the UK music business has been debated for years.
In an interview with Pause Magazine in the UK, the multi-award-winning rapper revealed that the reason why it has been tough for Ghanaian musicians to break into the UK market is that the country’s music industry needs to double in terms of A-list artists.
“The more A-list and global artists (GH) we have, the more we can hold a complete concert in the United Kingdom, and we can invade.” It’ll take an entire team, and it’ll have to be a sound invasion. That is the motivation.”
Sarkodie, who has recently been chastised by various industry figures, recently claimed that they need to promote fresh talent to the top and that the invasion should be deliberate.
